| Subject: Pet Microchip Scanners Sat Sep 29, 2012 3:12 pm | |
| There are pet microchip scanners available that read the information on any brand of chip, but they frequently don’t work with older models of microchips. Essentially, this means that even if your pet has a microchip and it is scanned, there is no guarantee that your pet’s microchip will register, and you will be no better off than if your pet had no microchip. However, since the process is relatively inexpensive, and there is a good chance that it could lead to you being reunited with a lost pet, having the pet implanted with an identification microchip is a good idea. | |
